FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ENVI helps co-develop components to automate VoiceXML generation from ejTalk conversation representations.

September 6, 2001 -- ejTalk continues its quest to support the maximum in conversational sophistication on the existing voice platforms.
One of the serious bottlenecks for developers who develop at the VoiceXML markup level is the challenge of managing more that a handful of transitions whether in a single .vxml file or bridging many files. Coding at that level makes every jump a potential misstep. As we (the computer speech industry) see the need for more powerful methodologies we also realize that we can't afford to redo the ever growing infrastructure with every new idea. Just as the computer industry no longer writes many of its programs in assembly code, they certainly do compile them to that level. ejTalk anticipates that the same sort of layering will happen with speech applications.
The ENVI group has been involved in clean, simple C++ components to support complex problems in algorithm development since the early days of C++. Often the individual with the expertise in a particular
algorithm does not have the deep commitment to the ever changing terrain of computer science. Often a set of tools that allow the domain experts to explore and experiment leads to more powerful results than a direct assault leading to a software solution.
This is another way that ejTalk advances the developing standards for emerging applications that support voice/conversation technologies.
