New SIGdial Affiliation

ejTalk's Emmett J. Coin has joined the Special Interest Group on Discourse and Dialogue (SIGdial) -- a sub-group of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL). He accepted an invitation to participate while attending the SIGdial Workshop in Hong Kong during the annual meeting of the ACL in October 2000. The workshop focuses on the issues of human-computer interaction via language and addresses many of the current techniques being explored for commercial application. As an active member in this field, Emmett will contribute useful insights and observations to the forum of human-computer conversation. While unable to present at the October workshop due to other obligations, Emmett will contribute in the future to the SIGdial forum with his views and vision as a pioneer in the area of cutting ej methodologies in this emerging technology.
