Roads_Scholar

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Say Hello To Our Road’s Scholar! ejTalk

Detroit, Michigan -- January 9, 2002. Everyone spends a good deal of their precious time commuting. Normally, a commute from home to work is about 35 miles. On a clear, weekend day, that’s about 25 minutes. Normal rush hour with some unpleasant weather, plan to be in your car for at least 45 minutes. Average commute from home to the mall, about 20 miles, or 25 minutes. Visiting relatives? Plan to spend 30 minutes in your car. If you’re alone, can you do anything with that time? Listen to the radio, to books on tape, talk on the phone?

ejTalk is developing the Road’s Scholar. It’s a conversational agent that can keep you safe, provide some fun, or help you learn something new.

Why Safe? A drowsy driver is less likely to fall asleep while engaged in a conversation.

Why Fun? If you’re tired of all the bad news repeated all the time, it provides an entertaining distraction.

Why Educational? It helps you learn something new, like geography, how to classify wines, understand stocks. We are on the lookout for more things you might want to learn. Let us know!

Unlike the radio or a book on tape, you can turn your attention elsewhere without missing anything. Your Road’s Scholar is patient and will wait until you’re ready to resume. And, you have a real “say” in the activity, you’re not just passively listening.

ejTalk is developing the conversational persona using its Conversation Manager technology, a powerful object based methodology that allows us to build engaging synthetic conversations in record time! And then in an incremental fashion, we can easily enhance the conversation and expand its capabilities.

A small preview is available at our ejTalk Lobby extension along with some other conversational tidbits.

Call the toll-free number. After you connect, visit our Demonstration section and hear how the synthetic agent can change phrasing and avoid the typical monotonous repetitive responses that can be annoying. And, of course, in this section, you should ask for the Road’s Scholar

You’re welcome to roam the Lobby, VIP, Arcade, and Demo areas to hear other small samples of computer conversation. When you’re done, just say “Stop” and “Goodbye.” Please feel free to pass along this fun and free demo to others.

How do you get to the ejTalk Lobby?

You can log on in the “VIP area” using:

Name: Henry Ford

Password: “ignition”

Remember: ejTalk’s focus is on the affordable creation of powerful, rich, fulfilling conversational interfaces that are cost-justifiable, even for small and medium sized user populations.

If you're interested in using our services to create customized synthetic agents, contact us. Happy trails to you!
