Detroit, Michigan -- October 19, 2001. In the long history of theatrical entertainment, there has always been something new to review -- a new play, an updated revival, a restaged production, a reworked theme, a recast show. But, rarely has there been a new theatrical toy that is at once a wondrous gizmo as it is a useful tool. Huh? Ay, that’s right. We’d like to offer you a goodly taste of “Digital Shakespeare.”

It was born out of the “Alack, methinks she has a merry idea!” whack at the back of our founder’s head and his daughter’s passion for theater. She needed help learning her lines as Kate in “The Taming of the Shrew;” he was looking for a way to demonstrate some of the ejTalk methodologies for human-computer conversation. The Bard took on a new technology. By putting together some ejTalk components -- Puff! O sweetest of visions! -- a prototype digital Shakespeare was born!

Hark! Bestir yourself! Sample this preview version of Digital Shakespeare. It’s free and all the components can be quickly downloaded from the Internet. All you need is a post-Elizabethan PC running Microsoft Windows (’98, NT, 2000, etc.) and Internet Explorer, Version 5.0 or higher. (It works best with at least a 233 MHz+ CPU and 128K+ memory.)
